Hello, as most of you know a new client is currently being built for the server. We've been working very hard for the past month on it and a lot has been done. We'll try to keep you updated on this thread.

Server Related

  • 100% wilderness multi-lines down to the tile.
  • Added almost perfect hit delays for magic and range (example) (thx to dr4g0nboy for help)
  • All Magic Spells and Range weapons have correct animations and projectiles (the thing that flies in the air, such as arrow).
  • Autocast now works properly with the required staffs/wands.
  • All Magic Spells now require 100% correct runes and all staffs that include runes such as Steam Staff works now.
  • New Potion mixing, you can now mix all potions in-game.
  • New Food Handler, all foods now work in-game, and multi-layer foods such as cakes (3 bites).
  • New Tickets, all tickets now have different color schemes (Donator, Super, Pk, Vote, Donator).
  • New Animation / Graphic handler which priorities them so the most important ones happen first.
  • New Player Updating added, it includes cached update blocks for much better performance.
  • All Combat System has been re-written from backend, although it uses the same formulas for now it is a lot more efficient and fixes a lot of issues such as the infinite bind/barrage.
  • Correct Attack, walk, run and turn animations for the most popular OSRS items and the most used ones.

Client Related

  • All OSRS Data Added (Items, Maps, Animations, Graphics, Npcs), even includes inferno data.
  • New Resizeable mode added.
  • A lot of toggleable features, Salad will add those here.

 

And a lot more, we're still having some minor issues with client and are trying very hard to get it working well to prepare for proper beta testing. The whole server & client was a lot more work than I expected so I am very sorry for giving you early release dates as I wasn't aware of how big of a project it'd end up becoming.

Hey everyone,

As Gretar said, we have been working nonstop trying to bring you the best client possible.  I took the time today to rewrite several parts of the client for a smoother experience.  The previous resizable we had was VERY buggy.  Buttons didn't work and there was a huge bug for mac users.  Not only did I fix all the bugs and get all buttons to work, I have also added more user customization:

Another thing that we needed was an actual texture system.  While upgrading to osrs data, a lot of classes had to be updated. With that being said, some items will no longer be in the game next update. We are happy to say that the client now loads 100% OSRS data including textures (Credits to Zion for helping me out with the textures):

A thread like this is appropriate with the current ongoing situation with the client, since it's your responsibility to keep the players updated and aware of what's going on.

 I'll try keep it short but I've noticed the following (minor issues & would like to point out suggestions) may be due the current stage you're at with the client:

  • No HP orbs in Fixed mode & Resizeable - If you're rewriting this I understand you may not have packed the sprites for orbs yet, this is not a problem.

 

  • Texture shading on characters: On RS2007 it appears more rigid (how it should be) than Roat pkz being smooth and flat with no outlining. Noticeably around the hair, clothing & items.

Notice how the textures are darker and rigid in some areas.

 Some items also are effected an example would be spirit shields etc. It is possible to add a texture shading option which you can toggle shading off or on.

  • Magic splashes should never hit 0's in your video gif below the magic splashes are hitting 0's. Hitting a zero only applies if the magical hit damage is actually 0. Therefore splash is nill, so a animation should just show instead.

  • Chatbox area is a few shades brighter, noticed on the previous client. OSRS is a shade darker makes, colored text easier to read.

  • Prayers, Include Perverse in the prayer book which is missing from your picture & toggle-able option to allow prayer info overlay and customization

If I missed anything I'll let you know personally. And I would like to have access to beta for testing has switching been fixed? I will play again when it's released current Roat is far to buggy (stated already why that is).

Thank you for your constructive feedback. Most of the things you listed have already been fixed. You also need to take into account that this is not a osrs deob. So a lot of the things osrs has is hard to replicate on a 317 client.

Here are a few updates I've done recently on the server.

  • New NPC Updating, based off the new player updating, very efficient.
  • Blowpipe and ballista both added and work very well (w darts/javelins) (accumalator also working).
  • New empty command, warns you if you're about to empty PKP.
  • New Telegrab added, works just as before but has correct speed and you can only throw 1 at a time.
  • All Zulrah items working perfectly (adding scales, dismantling, unchraging, restoring) and losing scales when attacking / getting hit.
  • All poison arrows / weapons work with correct poison damage amount.

There are still a few bugs left with client but everything seems to be on a good pace.

Can't expect much from the new client it isn't osrs debob so won't have 100% 07 anims

Yes I know this however, they should be put the right places and if suggested added this goes for gfx too. (see list below). As you said some things are hard to replicate but some are very easy fixes.

I know you've included Weapons in the gifs which everyone normally shows off.

 

 

I'm stating that current "Roat Pkz 317" which has formed my opinion about the "NEW CLIENT" because you haven't showcased the following yet or may not have added this.

 

Missing GFX/Anim List (I'll include some examples from my archive since your loading the data I'm sure you know what to do? @Salad @Gretar )

 

Magic During Combat: 

Falling ice projectile when a target is moving the projectile gfx of the cast will follow the player Dependant on distance.

Examples, when the target is moving it should follow the target and end the animation once the spell has reached the player.

Magic spells Gfx should refresh upon recasting

Example Barrage Ice cube gfx , after another spell is casted it restarts the gfx same applies to all magic spells.

Magic Gfx should not override special attacks, as special attack have higher priority during combat

And the quality of your Gif is laggy. The range turning animation on the new client from what I can see is there but isn't 100% "NO SMOOTH TURNING ANIM". OSRS is on the left.

It maybe the pathing issue you still haven't fixed you just glide over the area you clicked and not smoothly turned like on the left of the gif I took on 07. Maybe its just me noticing it. That's why I said "in the right places" and "it'll look like any other server" but I notice small things like this but you probably don't really care to include these but if that's your intention stay generic like every other server saying "OSRS RSPS etc" pretty annoying but yeah be my guest.

It wasn't promised but we were told we would get new donator updates when the vote was taken to change the things, and after wards to appease the angry donators.  Still nothing!

Then maybe suggest some new benefits, IMO donator is good enough now doesn't really need to be something that you can't play the game without.

lol yeah I know, been there everyday. I ended up just giving away my 300k cuz idk what they're removing from the game and quit for now until they drop the new client but been a whole month since salad said he'd drop in a "few days" and still nothing lmao.

Nobody cares about resizable, Inferno or HD client. I swear you're just adding onto the work-load so that it never gets finished. We deserve more updates, rumours going around that is basically finished, yet theres no indication here that it is? Just be transparent with us and stop lying. The game is dying due to your lies on release dates, people are getting tired of waiting
