Suggestion: Make the blacklist MAC address based.

Read this Wikipedia page before replying it gives you a bit of a understanding what I'm trying to get to.

I'm not going to give too much detail to this thread but I think the following quotes help you understand what this thread is exactly about.

1. "Have fun fighting in the wilderness"
2. "Don't worry I have over a hundred accounts ready to log in"
3. "Do you think a moderator cares?"
4. "Would have been jailed if it was a offense but I'm still here doing it"

Ragging is the same concept as player killing except you target one individual for a very long most of the times this is done with multiple accounts because a normal player is limited to how many users he/she can add to the blacklist.

I think making the blacklist MAC Address based is a way to solve it. Just like most of the features in-game such as not being able to fight someone in wilderness on two accounts or killing monsters it is all MAC Address based. So say you blacklist a person that you do not want to fight in the wilderness and the person does decide to rag you then he practically won't be able to do so because his accounts are tied to the same address.

I am going to warn you that there are ways around this. But I don't think that someone is going to waste time in to searching for software or ways to change the MAC Address simply because it takes way longer in time to find and do it compared to a situation like now where someone can just log in to ten accounts that all have playtime and it just takes a matter of a second to walk the other account in to the wilderness to rag you again.

 

Also if you are fighting in Edgeville I recommend you to blacklist these accounts because they are all there just to rag.

Only issue if that happens is if you can literally blacklist the entire server if it's MAC address based by blacklisting people on new accounts kekww

I don't think so. I think this idea is a great addition to the server and I feel that this would solve ragging from the core instead of letting people record someone ragging them and post it on the forum when the administrators and moderators rarely read the forum because they are so busy dealing with in-game issues. Bothering them with this is issue is pointless but solving it from the core is great.

 

There is a little ragging niche at Edgevile the person I mentioned above in the image is one of the biggest losers who does it and under that you have people like ''L2 Blacklist'' and such but it's going to be a issue that's going to last unless you solve the issue today and that's what this thread is for and I think it would be a great addition to the server as mentioned above.

I see positives and negatives here. In logic, yes it's a good idea as that's what it should be, but I also see how it could be slightly abused, or how annoying it could be for pkers who just want to fight someone (nhers ie). People have kitted out accs w max donor etc because it bypasses blacklist to gl people @ hills. Hard one to really decide either way.

If someone makes alts to avoid a blacklist they will be punished, so it isn't needed.

Granted yesterday you were very busy @Fruitiest but I was rarely able to fight anyone because the accounts mentioned above in the screenshot would not stop freezing me and it ended out getting myself in trouble because I was annoyed and no one really could help me out so I was forced to wait until he gave up.

I could be horribly wrong but I don't think you care that much prime example was yesterday and yes I was bitching about it during an event but someone is breaking basic rules and he would not stop even after a lot of people made him aware that it's a offense to rag and yet he was left unpunished.

Correct me where I'm wrong I'm not here to put words in your mouth and I'm not trying to give you a bad spotlight but yesterday was a weird rollercoaster with mixed emotions all because of one person.

I already apologized for yesterday but it did motivate me to make the thread after doing some strong thinking from yesterdays experience and I do think it does take some weight of your shoulders because I personally feel this is something that can be solved it's not a issue you should deal with if it can be solved one way or the other.

 

Also they were not made alts they have been around for a while because I'm not the only one he rags a lot of people and so do some others that I have forgotten about but do rag because they can't fight you or because they have a toxic personality.

I see the point where avoiding blacklists is against the rules, but why enforce something when it can be avoided?

Many different ways around ragging, one being don't do something to cause you to be ragged.

Raggers dont just rag anyone, they target you if you piss them off in terms of rushing/pjing/randomly flaming.

You're wrong. There is no way to justify ragging and as mentioned in earlier replies most people in the game do rag and they have the accounts already set up to do so because they are used to doing that on a daily basis they don't have a valid reason to bother someone they just do it because of a few scenarios I can name here where the person gets toxic and decides to do what he does which again is wrong.

You can be fighting someone and quick come to realize that you're not hitting and that you're nearly out of food so you either teleport or walk to the ditch and from there you can either decide to fight the person or not fight the person and skip him/her and from there most people get very toxic start flaming you and very often start ragging you as well.

Someone just rushed you so you walk to the ditch you blacklist the person the person logs out and rags you again. This scenario can happen to anyone who is NOT  a donator.  Most of the donators already have the accounts blacklistem from who they know are ragging or rushing them so there's no real point to go and bother them because they have enough space to actually blacklist all of the accounts if you're either a donator or more.

You simply can not justify toxicity in the form of ragging not only is it against the rule but also when someone is being toxic towards you or does the things you mentioned above then you should always stand above that and realize that there's a different approach to go with rather than logging on to many accounts and bothering the person even more just because he's hurting your feelings.

It is a offense and it can get you banned or the softer case get you jailed for a certain amount of time you should always think before you do something and stop trying to justify ragging.
