  1. Yeah, I mean I get the excitement of wanting to duel really fast, but remember it only takes a milisecond to read the second trade window. I totally agree the spirit should be changed though to something like a scroll.

    Some quick tips.

    - On some naruto type shit use the byakugan to make sure no conditions were changed before you accept the first window.

    - Read through the second for good measure.

    - Be wary of certain items and avoid them like the plague, infinity boots, etc.

  2. I think it'd be a nice idea if time zone was a factor when choosing potential staff, but yeah finding new people who would put in the time and effort is hard enough like Zoradz mentioned. If you have a help cc, or yell out to ask if anyone needs assistance it is generally stigmatized, best you can do is help out whenever you get asked, or see a distressed person and offer your assistance.

I can imagine it being tough to find someone with all of those attributes or enough.

    - Activity

-Average to high level eagerness to help.

    -Actually applying.

    -Possibly good reputation.

@Dizzy Rascal ur forum name and the way you speak don't match, change it to MP William or something.

end of the day this is retarded it went from forums to ingame blah blah. Yoobs ain't done anything wrong (apart from one small mishap) but he was sanctioned for that by gretar. If he did stuff wrong gretar would denote him again. Note this server from what I know aside from stijn who was the respected member then admin etc hasn't had someone as active as yoobs ever. Everyone has flaws but I see people like kasheem al falafel piping up saying if i were staff etc.. end of the day you aren't. Gretar is in charge of this and the staff have shown they were unhappy for the forums permissions etc gretar acc told me himself they're making a new system. All these bandwagon topics about yoobs is just tryna draw out something from nothing and quite frankly it's not needed.

Yoobs has banned me before once but we sorted it straight away(nothing to sort TBH) he's banned my friends but they learn look at @Chayz @Xbrzh etc like no offence but the majority of this topic seems like lavish attacking yoobs purely because he's friends with meridian ? Like he doesn't use his staff powers wrongly- infact I've seen him jail Taylor for ragging etc and not get involved when a mod jails them.

Imo @Yoobs dw about these numpties hating it's cos they're not looking at the bigger pic.

I tried downplaying the word usage, and trying to adapt to roat lingo, no one likes a thesaurus man, and ha.

I'll apologize on my part for making this thread "blow out of proportion", however if common ground can be found and I believe it has then great. I applaud Yoobs for taking the time to discuss this with us, I applaud any staff member who takes what we've said today and perhaps apply it. If nothing changes then it is what it is.

Gentleman? Liberties? Relax, chief. This is roatpkz not an 18th century congressional hearing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

You are typing as someone with no sense of the dynamic of the server, so how would you have an ability to make a case for yourself? All rsps aren't the same. Some private servers you can get banned for speaking in profanity and others you only get muted for leaking private information. I understand where you're coming from and you're asking moderators to be parents to the players and teach them right from wrong by example but that's not how things work around here. It's in a sense a dictatorship but that has never been a problem for its 6 years of existence and if you want to get banned for flaming then play a skilling server? Can't really say it any more plainly than it's a pking server and pkers flame.

I think you're idea that denoting people as toxic is biased to be utterly hilarious. So let me get this straight, you feel that people who consistently flame and get punished for their actions (by staff whom aren't even Yoobs) makes putting a label on them biased? I know people are raised differently but most who are punished try to take corrective measures to make certain they don't have to be punished again. For staff to keep having to take actions because certain people feel that ruining others experience doesn't matter to them isn't right nor fair. So if the same people are always getting punished and triggered by one another to taunt, troll, and violate rules, that would make them toxic. So to pull a quicker trigger on known toxic players is wrong to you?

"players say john are biased but don't link evidence" HA-evidence has been linked without effort to look even more in depth, but ok

Respect is a two-way street? What fortune cookies have you actually been reading? Listen pal, all the stories you have about being presidential is unrealistic and doesn't serve fruit for administrating a private server. Admins have a job to communicate with a way they feel is appropriate for them. They don't have to, nor should they be held to the same standard as normal players. That may seem hypocritical but do you care at all about being realistic? Let's serve the facts

    -annoying 16 year olds

-17-19 year olds with dead banter/failing to be witty

-foreigners who can barely speak English

I understand Yoobs has a staff position on an rsps and you've been told you're entire e-life that means he Ghandi but his position doesn't even mean what you interpret it to mean?

    Server support - provide support

Moderator - moderate the server (hope u know what moderate means xP)

    Administrator - administrate the server

Hope that cleared it up for you

I laughed, glad you have a sense of humor.

Once you've put a label on someone out in the public, then automatically your perceived notion of them will affect your job. How they interact or your interaction with them will undoubtedly be affected by feelings which has no place in punishment. I don't want staff to hold someones hand, but they should be role models, trust means their behavior is on a pedestal. Everyone understands the idea of "fire is hot, I got burned must not touch fire", however if fire decides to actively engage you and feeds on the drama you fuel it with then that becomes a problem. Staff should deescalate, the issue that has been brought before us is staff escalation, from small snippets of conversations and multiple people telling you this it should absolutely be discussed; hence the fire extinguisher would be the peoples dissent.

Pulling the trigger on someone who legitimately has broken the rules and proof provided, no one would have a problem with. Keep in mind I am not defending any specific person or group, I am saying a system that punishes conflict but thrives off it as well is not something we should advocate. If you get rid of someone from the community for previous bad behavior that is unholy repugnant, because it sets the precedent that anyone disliked by the ruling class can be excommunicated. As long as they obviously break a rule, but what you're suggesting is getting rid of them for past shit, how about no only person who should be able to do that is Gretar himself. Hell Gretar can get rid of you for pretty much anything regardless of rule break, "hey you just paid me 5k? and have been a model community member? well I'm kicking you out". As unlikely as that would be, I still would not have complaints even if he did that, mostly because it's in the TOS.

It doesn't seem hypocritical if they are not held to the same standards, it is hypocritical. I don't know the age demography of our community but obviously it varies, I'd estimate between 15-20+, I am myself above the age of 20. Like I said diversity is great, while English is the pre dominant spoken language in this game, for the sole fact Jagex is located in the UK, and this is a mock up of their product, it doesn't mean we should favor intolerance over acceptance because they "speak funny".

And, I hope this clears it up for you as well.

I appreciate the complement and not disagreeing or stating Why GG cannot have an opinion but i have to disagree with most of your points. I do agree it can be a flawed system but disagree that staff put themselves above the rules and don't do what there suppose to do i would be interested to know what your in-game name is for the sake of arguments also. Making decisions in the heat of the moment is what we're meant to do we don't allow players to break the rules and then punish them after things have calmed down and all of the in-game punishments don't only just require evidence but Zoradz also goes through our punishments and will un-punish anyone that is seen as needed to be un-punished but we still have the power to punish players when it is needed unlike the forums which means we cannot punish anyone if it is needed and cannot deal with people or even delete threads on the forums we are expected to go through one person to deal with everything on the forums you cannot say that's not a system that could easily turn into a biased system. Not making the argument "this group is toxic" either they were merely stating how i pick on a singular group to punish and saying how i was "toxic" yet i was just stating the truth in terms of most of them are the most toxic players on the server in term of breaking rules etc and it's not "fighting fire with fire" it's about punishing players who are constantly breaking the rules and i have never used the "its so stressful ding this unpaid job" card ever people ask us in regards to if we get payed and as i've stated before we volunteer to do this as a favor to Gretar and all the staff team are humans at the end of the day. I disagree with what you say about people expecting me to be perfect as if any staff member remotely steps out of line or even says anything that could be deemed as 'unprofessional' holy hell breaks loose on the forums and in-game. The owner can feel free to have any opinion or do anything he wants but it doesn't mean we have to agree with it bearing in mind the whole entire staff team doesn't agree with this fyi. I don't care about the restrictions in terms of not being able to access ip's or not being able to install plugins its the fact that the power was randomly taken away and for no reason from every single member of staff and are often unappreciated for what we actually do especially for the horrendous people in this community and there's nothing else to it. I could of easily been staff in much larger communities who would appreciate the dedication and the effort but this community is nothing but toxic people who are the first to cry when a staff member punishes them especially when they have been punished fairly. I didn't "cry folly and threatened to quit" i stated my feelings on the matter and looked to see if anyone would provide some good insight for me or anything but yeah i can understand why you have taken it like that this is personally a large amount of issues that have been building up that lead to that post.

When I said heat in the moment I meant as in hot headed, I'll list some examples for you. Yesterday or so, this one gentleman I forget his name and you were have a discussion, he didn't seem to be flaming or stepping over a boundary but you deadpanned told him to shut up and not make another peep. That itself encroaches on someones liberty to freely express themselves, and it honestly shocked me. Maybe Roatpkz is a unique culture, but where does the banter begin and end? I freely see Mods and you alike using the N word and not just the "a" ending either, if between friends whatever. However even in your own examples, you say things like typing or speaking like an Arab, how do you not realize that would alienate your Arabic friends, and brothers in your community. Rather then putting them down, raise them up to be encouraged to speak better English, maybe by pming them mistakes, linking them to grammar websites. Roatpkz is a diverse place, but rather than being tolerant of said cultures it seems like people take the good and shit on the bad. Using insults like "Ks amk" and other phrases alike.

I certainly believe you should have more powers, however to the extent that John does? absolutely not forum admin has a specific title for a reason. The power to close or delete threads can be abused if more people are allowed the ability. The system Gretar was proposing has its flaws on one hand, it limits, on the other hand bureaucracy you have to go through, that being said unless it's a website advertiser, or someone releasing personal information; time of the essence is not a factor that should be considered.

You're saying you are not making the argument that they are not toxic, but then you say it is the truth I was confused there. When I say fighting fire with fire, I mean you have been seen by people getting into petty arguments and then coming out the victor simply by having the authority to punish said individual.

You say you've never made the argument that you don't paid to do this bullshit?

No-one on the staff team gets payed to put up with the bullshit that all these players constantly give out and at the end of the day we're humans like you guys and want to have fun and want to have a laugh and don't always want to be so fucking serious about the game like yeah sometimes staff flame and sometimes staff can be a bit over the top but it doesn't mean that we're bad staff and it doesn't mean we don't work our asses off the game i mean it's like we slave for the game and at the end of it get nothing but random power shifts and issues from the players.

That's from your thread "General chat about staff"

When I say you don't have to be perfect, I do mean that people give shit to John about being biased but they don't link evidence. John rarely posts, because he may or may not be about quality, in return he does not end up in squabbles and is above reproach on the matter. Aside from the occasional banter, bare in mind you have been here for 2 years he's been here less, but he does not play the game either meaning even less dirt on his character.

Look everyone understands the arguments it's tough dealing with a community of 200+ people, the only thing however everyone is screaming at you to understand is to be the bigger man. As in don't get in petty arguments, have fun in any kind of banter you want as long as it is in good nature. However the moment you become the person you repudiate, you lose any footing you lose any respect because respect is a two way street. There are so many options to deal with annoying members and adolescents, ignore feature, communication strictly with business if they've been punished, direct them to the right resources and then get out of that toxic conversation in itself.

I'd like to thank Yoobs for the things he has done before starting, and why gg well for opening up a dialogue that needs to be had.

I think it's an inherently flawed system, when a staff member isn't putting himself above what he's suppose to be in oversight of and routinely breaks the rules himself. That being sticking to the letter of the law, rather than going by brash heat in the moment decisions. However when you make the argument "oh this player" or this "group is toxic", and "they started it first so I'm merely fighting fire with fire" that's beyond mind boggling it's literally the definition of a childish argument. You're already showing bias by saying they're toxic, but when someone calls you out for doing the same thing your excuse is "it's so stressful doing this unpaid job" it's not mandatory slave labor. It's as simple as resigning, however if you're going to keep your job then don't use that excuse, because it is very hard to have sympathy for someone who's demeanor and morals matches those he punishes, not a single person will ask you to be perfect. When the owner himself has to come out and say enough is enough, with the brazen unmatched in game punishments linked to forum punishments and gives the power to one or two staff members it says enough. The fact you cried folly and threatened to quit to go to another server screams control issues, keep in mind any minor thing you want added I'm sure John is perfectly capable of downloading a simple plugin on the forums. Requesting an ip from John/Zoradz is not a big deal, for the most part you wouldn't even need one.
