Run out of the range of the guy your fighting. Especially when you switch to your mage gear since you're vulnerable to melee. Also, when you catch a freeze on your opponent you can switch into your mage tank gear (Karil's top, ahrim skirt) and get some free melee hits on him by running in and out of his attack range.

I don't think there should be pk items in the minigame shop but there definitely should be some stuff that will make minigames more popular to play.
