To answer this, no I had plenty of prayer I made sure!

The thread was meant to be 'locked' not 'muted'.

First of all, prayer animation takes seconds until it takes effect. So, if you just put prayer on immediately during the death animation, then it won't take effect. Therefore, you will lose all you items (if skulled), or 3 items kept (if not skulled). Next time remember to put protect item on before awhile so it would take effect to be in the safe side.
