You make some good points, I made the same observation re: players not active after demotion. Either they're on an alt or they've quit completely. Those you specifically mentioned, I think since these guys were veterans, they were basically on the verge of quitting anyway - being staff was probably the only reason for them to still be here. Once that was gone, it made sense to leave. If you asked me to place a bet on the next SS, I would have said Love Wings, it didn't surprise me. He is very helpful and I suppose is literally "supporting the server" so it makes sense. I don't know Ban152 (doesn't mean I don't think he deserves his position, I just don't recall who he is but I will do soon!) The support they can provide is limited, it's basically to help newer players with in-game mechanics, prices, locations, etc. and minor issues one might have with other players. For most people life (PK'ing) will continue as normal. The surprise package of all this is Graphics being dropped, I'm wondering if this was his personal decision or if he had done something to cause this. Hopefully he doesn't follow the above trend of pulling a disappearing act, and if you want to @Graphics, please shed some light on this mate.

You can still use them, but only in fun PK or verses monsters. The reason is to make PK'ing fairer for non-donators, and also because the server is moving towards OSRS format, where these "OP" weapons do not exist. You still have access to some exclusive capes, the stat hammer and some spirit shields - make use of them while you can! I think more donation benefits will be added soon to counteract this (said I think, so don't quote me on it!), feel free to suggest some ideas. Since I personally have had the donator status for several years, I feel I've had way more than my dollars worth so I'm not complaining. But, I think the ability to save extra custom kits, yell, spec restore, and a couple of NPCs at a private area are still worth donating for. I would donate just for those if I hadn't already. Of course you may not feel the same way. Which has just given me an idea! Since donations are non-refundable (basically just a way of supporting the server, any reward is merely an expression of gratitude from the owner - not a purchase, despite us treating it as such), I was thinking there could be a an in-game NPC at the donatorzone who will swap your donator rank for a donator ticket and then teleport you home. He could charge a small PKP ticket fee for doing such a thing, but it would at least allow you to sell the rank to re-claim some of the amount you spent. It would also allow people to transfer the rank between their accounts (I've seen people request this before, but currently it isn't done). It could work, but from a business point of view it wouldn't be a good move for Gretar LOL!

All I meant was it still looked like RS, not more-so than OSRS. When I said "my book" it indicates my personal opinion is that 7 years ago the game had an oldschool feel, looking back now. That was about the time I first got maxed on RS. Please make a screenshot of your equipment/inventory from RS3 (the current main game) if you must do a complete comparison. You will see what I mean. Then tell me what looks like oldschool between 2009 and 2016. At least back then the item models and interface layout were almost identical. HD doesn't really matter. A veteran who never played the HD version would still recognise it as RS. I think you're one of these people that's failed to realise Jagex are re-adding the same stuff to OSRS with slightly different models (occult/ASN, SotD/SoL, ACB/CCB). Very small changes. Anyway have fun knit-picking.

True oldschool = 2007. There weren't any dark crabs or anglerfish in 2007, they are technically "new oldschool" items. Rocktails weren't 2007 either, but they were 2009, which still makes them "oldschool" in my book, since RS still looked like RS back then. Therefore I think we should keep these. Besides it's just a picture, what it looks like shouldn't matter. If you just want the effect of crabs then sure why not

Terrible. Red skulls are bad enough. Pking without death matches is shit (IMO) and doing this will just lead to people running, praying, tabbing out, etc. At least until they get the KS needed for the cape. It also encourages farming too, as a way to rack up fast kills without risk of dying. I think 10k is fair - that will teach people who use alts!

Yes it could have spec. But the thing is so damn accurate you can still use it without spec and get kills. Particularly at pure levels, you can do VS to GMaul

Partial support- yes to skilling if it can only be trained in the wilderness. No to safe skilling. That's boring as shit, might as well be standing around doing nothing.

Cloak is untradeable therefore it costs more because you can keep looting it back, whereas 3rd age is lost on death that's why it's cheap.

Maybe have like an achievement, whereby you need 100 kills using that particular skill in order to equip the skill cape - instead of obtaining from a drop. So for example 100 kills using "attack" style (accurate or w/e you call it, the first box on every melee weapon). Doesn't have to be the entire fight, just the killing blow needs to be with that style for it to be credited. So you need 700 kills to unlock all capes, but once you unlocked them you can spawn them freely. As for the "perk" from the cape, I guess the obvious choice is if you wear the cape it gives you some bonus in that skill. I'm going to suggest normal skill cape stats with an extra +4 (or possibly +8) in the skill of that particular cape (for HP cape it could set your base HP to 103 so the overheal effect of brews/rocks is even higher). Or it could do something if you operate it, but add a cool down like the DFS so you can't operate too much.

A couple of people have reported the same thing happened, and under similar circumstances (i.e. getting DC'd when in combat). Since it's been some time since it's happened, try logging in again now - it may have been a temporary problem. If you still cannot log in, try creating another character to see if the problem is with your client or just that account.

...And then re-download it obviously!!! OK I know there are automated tools that can do this which both Gretar and "pk and own" have graciously released, but I still think people should know how to do this themselves, at least if they play other servers those tools won't work there. It seems to be quite often someone has trouble with the client and it looks like a written explanation of how to delete the cache isn't clear enough so I made a quick video for this purpose. (This is for Windows, but it should be similar thing on other OS - the location of the cache is always the user directory, aka home drive). For those of you who don't need this video, and already know the path to get to the cache, here is a tip to get there faster: click Start, type %userprofile% and press enter!

Not going to argue anymore with you except for one thing: if you was literate you would have seen that he already tried that and it didn't change anything. If the Launcher cannot connect to the update server then it's irrelevant whether or not he has the cache because in order to check versions it needs to compare his current files with what the latest ones should be. However it can't read what the latest ones are, and therein lies the problem (I think). We will have a more accurate idea if he follows my above attempts to bypass the update check.

You mean this lil' rectange right? What else can it be? The above pic is using Java, as denoted by the "coffee-cup" logo it utilises. So the Jar file IS opening, however the Launcher is failing for some reason and refuses to open the client. That's like saying "Windows can't open Exe files moron", look I clicked OSBuddy and the lil rectangle opens but the RS client never loads! (It does load ofc but just giving example)

Hmm.. No, I refuse to give up so easily on this. From your description it appears to be a problem on your end with the Launcher (which basically just checks for updates before loading the client - this is usually a waste of time since updates are rare!) I say "on your end" because I completely removed RoatPkz - all the files - and downloaded a fresh copy and it loads up perfectly. This issue could be cause by so many things, it could be AV software blocking it, it could be your Java settings etc. Can you load RS or other RSPS, or any Java applet at all for that matter? Also, please try this as a temp. fix, hopefully it will work. If we try loading the client without checking for updates it just might fire up the client. It would mean you'd have to manually update each time until the problem is solved.
