Hey friends. @Sage fest

So i'm a fairly political person, and was curious to hear out some of the differing opinions of the Roatpkz community

I was wondering what your guys feelings were in the ongoing debate of the strengths and weaknesses of socialist/capitalistic systems, and which system is more applicable/practical for a developed country. While I understand that it's easy to brush these topics off at a young age, the fact of the matter is that this is OUR future, and it's important that we learn sooner than later what kind of an impact politics will play in our lives. A short response is still a valuable one, even if politics isn't your thing. The debate section is a place to learn :)

I, personally, am a strong advocate for the capitalist system. I will provide my reasons, but would like to hear other peoples views first (hopefully from both sides).

I also acknowledge that this topic may not garner any traction, as this topic doesn't have anything to do with Erca, or Kihfans sweet 74 way 1 tick.

Capitalism -

Think about the most powerful country's in the world, they are so powerful because they are economic powerhouses. Capitialism drives motiviation and the advancement in technology, sciences, research etc. It's a incentive to become rich, think about a small example like RoatPkz everyone plays to be rich and go as far as they can in the game, not to make a bunch of money and let others decide what to do with it, think about how annoying it is when people ask for hooks - same idea. Capitalism is why society has come so far, and how crazy efficient the whole internet boom has progressed.

Just my opinion.

Capitalism. Imagine stakers under a socialistic/communistic system where they are constantly fed everyone else's money to continue their addiction.

Socialism 😬

Economically socialism benefits everything I stand for socially (jaja) even though I don’t run in the tax bracket with whom financially I would like to benefit the most. I think equal pay as a society is comprehensively one thing my nation should agreee on but just doesn’t. We are ran by the rich old (racist to me but yh) white man who would never justify equal pay for woman or minorities.

These old rich white men are the people by whom we elect, they are groomed from young to be philosophically dormant. How could you change your beliefs when you are a legacy thrown into a senators office at 13 being told you are going to be a senator and not believe the same as your family before you?

That’s why I believe our government is structurally oppressive and benefits from capitalism (obama ur weird btw LOL)

The USA is a stratified capilistic society with mantadory socialist programs cops/firefighters/limited public housing/food aid. For shit like healthcare, free college education, it's pay out of your own pocket or gl in your next reincarnation. Slight hyperbole, but for most of the middle class/wealthy+ they still think the old, supremely old notion of a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage as long as you apply yourself. While some people work 2/3 jobs just to make ends meet/rent/bills/go to school/family juggling all this. A 9 to 5 is fine and dandy but it's no where as good as it used to be or will be. Due to shit like consistent gentrification, micromanagement politics such as decreasing taxes for rich mother fuckers/business owners due to a 3rd grade understanding of the trickle down effect, cutting socialist programs that are literally neccsary such as obamacare.  Too much capitalism and an ever increasing population only creates humans that are modern day serfs. Lobbying is essentially legalized bribing, huge corporations with fat checks have the largest voice, or honestly only voice. This is one example of the failure of capitalism, it's hard to keep it out of politics.

From a purely economical perspective:

Capitalism brings freer trade and markets. Free markets are controlled by market forces (supply and demand) and therefore firms will aim to meet the demands in the market, in order to maximise their profits. This leads to firms competing against each other, leading to increased levels of innovation, quality/quantity of goods/services produced, variety and a fast response to market changes. In a more planned economy, markets are restricted by government intervention. Therefore businesses cannot thrive and we lack innovation, leading to poorer quality of goods produced.

On the other hand, socialist economies include higher corporate taxation rates and high income taxes, in order to pay for their proposed public services and welfare systems. This discourages high skilled workers and businesses to base themselves in that country, as they would be better off individually in a capitalist economy, where they would be taxed less and would have a higher real income. Therefore the economy can undergo a brain drain and it also can lose foreign investment as businesses leave.

Socialist economies all encourage people to work less due to the taxation system. Say we have a high earning worker. They may earn £250,000 annually at their current wage. In a socialist economy, there be higher income tax rates past the £240,000 threshold. This worker would then be discouraged to work the same hours as they did, as they would be just as well off if they earned less but stayed under the high tax threshold. Therefore the productivity of the country falls and the country may stop economically growing. Take an unemployed person. They are encouraged to stay unemployed as they can claim benefits that provide a healthy lifestyle, of which the high skilled workers are funding. This leads to high unemployment rates, weak productivity and possible recessions.

Socialist ideologies are based off an Eutopia that doesn’t account for human nature and the aspect of competition. They don’t account for the fact that individuals want to be ‘better’ than the population around them. Even in communist societies, the population aren’t truely equal, as they tend to result in mass poverty with a corrupt and elite few (due to the aspect of human nature and the elite few taking advantage of their position to become the best off they can).

All corrections are appreciated

addition:

looking at the public services that are proposed by socialist societies such as public health care. Take the notorious British National Health Service. It is a public service and the doctors who work for it are high skilled workers. Therefore they have moderately high incomes. Socialist economies increase taxation on these high earners, discouraging doctors and nurses to work their long hours and instead they cut their working hours. This leads to a health service where there aren’t enough workers for it (doctors/nurses),  as they are discouraged to work. If you think about it, the doctors have been taxed more for the work they do in the public health service, just to fund the public health service (and ofcourse other things) itself. Not logical and this system often fails, as the NHS in the UK is beginning to do.
